Made possible by a $30,000 donation from Hannaford Supermarkets, Open Door Mission’s expanded food pantry is now open – just in time for the holidays!
Operated entirely by volunteers, the food pantry can accommodate up to 300 families per month and is structured to have the look and feel of a grocery store. Prior to the expansion, their food pantry existed as a single 12 foot shelf with the capacity to feed up to 75 families per month.
Serving the Community for Nearly Three Decades
Open Door Mission was founded in 1991 and provides food, shelter, basic needs, addiction recovery programs, and a connection to resources for those in the Glens Falls area who are caught in poverty and homelessness. They aim to to foster life transformation in a compassionate, collaborative community where the marginalized feel safe asking for help, resources are accessible, and all are treated with dignity.
