last september i got a puppy. not just any puppy, but a replacement for a goldendoodle that passed away last february from a vet error. thinking that “all 2 dogs are alike”, i was sure i would get a duplicate copy. well….silly me and i really knew better….this little man is his own and i mean own man. he refuses to come when i call whereas the first bodie was stuck in my rear most of the time. never had to call that one. not once. the new bodie went to spend 5 days with his old “fam” and came home with two bad habits. guess that’s what happens when you’re one of six and you run with the big dogs. and you’re at the bottom of the heap.<\/p>\n
the first and most disgusting bad habit my little love-bug exhibited to me was his uncanny ability to drink from the porcelin throne. not that easy for a four month old pup. number two, and very bold indeed, is the full length extension of the doodle body to reach to and extract from the counter the most delicious goodies. again….he was not privy to this dining technique before his thanksgiving vacation. at “camp”, it must have been every man for himself, including left-overs.<\/p>\n
the goldendoodle is a wonderful designer mutt with the very best of both parents. he has dad’s poodle brains and mom’s retriever laid back demeanor and gentle heart. i have a new best friend with a mind of his own and a deaf ear when he chooses. i am learning patience and control and i am sure he is laughing at me. oh bodie, bodie, bodie…..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
