thank god for my ole friend, wendy, who obligingly came to help make those teeny weeny cookies that we so lovingly make every year. holiday\/christmas cookies. she even brought one of her favorite recipes for ricotta cheese cookies. we decided that we needed to liven them up by drizzling bright red glaze on them. she had red hands, a red tongue (cuz you gotta try ’em) and pink teeth. she was also going to play mah jong with those lovely hands. i suggested bleach, but she opted to look bad rather than smell bad! what a life saver she was as we always seem to get behind with those silly little nibbles. our cookies have to be tiny because we use small foil tins for packaging and we pack them in half pound units.<\/p>\n
i found our list from 1985 when we made 14 different kinds! what was i thinking. since then, we seem to be satisfied with 8-10 varieties. and in the 25 years we have been baking the little guys, our price has only increased by two dollars a pound. i guess that proves that this is truly a sweet and tiny labor of love. our most productive year yielded 84 pounds. imagine the butter! i do so love butter.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
