last week i decided to go south to visit my sister in north carolina. my “doodle” went to stay with his girlfriend in south glens falls. since the weather has been so fine here, i knew that if i didn’t go soon, i wouldn’t go. my sister has been living near the coast for about 35 years and the thought of venturing north during our winter makes her shiver. likewise the idea of me going south in the summer makes me sweaty, so……the near spring of it seems to work out just right. they go on cruises during the winter and actually, just came back from the mayan ruins. her pictures were amazing and so inviting, but i am not the cruise-type (whatever the type is) and am satisfied with looking at pictures. the conversations at my sister’s concerned when to get the flowers, how much sod do “we” need, where to spread the topsoil, let’s do a container garden and how much to spend. they settled on a limit of 1,000 dollars. whew. the azaleas were beginning to bloom, the pear trees were in blossom and cocktails are at 4:00. needless to say, it’s another lifestyle and one i can truly appreciate, but will never live. i had a wonderful visit, did a little shopping, sat in the southern sun for a few hours, and was ready to come home. my rented house in this tiny tourist town sure did look good and my friends all said they missed me! i was away four days.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
