As they celebrate their 30th anniversary,
\nWarren Tire Service Center plans to open its
\n15th store, a full-service automotive service
\ncenter on Route 4 in Whitehall, a former
\nrailroad freight station.<\/p>\n
The company expects a July opening, according
\nto Bob Kellogg, president and CEO.<\/p>\n
The new facility will be the northernmost
\nstore for the chain, and “a new market for
\nus,” Kellogg said, although they already
\nhave some customers from the Whitehall
\narea patronizing other Warren Tire outlets.
\nHe sees great opportunity for growth along
\nthe “very busy Route 4 corridor” and hopes
\nto draw in customers from further north.
\nManaging the new store will be Don Mallory, currently the service manager at a Warren Tire outlet at the KMart store in Queensbury. Mallory has been with the company for nine years.<\/p>\n
The Whitehall store will have a four-bay service area offering all types of automobile maintenance and repair services, including New York state inspections. They will also sell commercial tires and provide road service for large trucks.<\/p>\n
The main brands will be Goodyear, Dunlop and Kelly tires, but they will also offer half a dozen other brands, including Michelin. The company plans to hire four or five employees at the new store. The store will be open Monday through Saturday.<\/p>\n
Warren Tire was founded by Bob Kellogg’s father, Wayne Kellogg. The first store, at 92 Warren St. in Glens Falls, is still in operation. The company took its name from the street on which it is located. Today, there are Warren Tire Service Centers stores in Glens Falls, Queensbury, Hudson Falls, Greenwich, Clifton Park, Waterford, East Greenbush, Colonie, Latham and Johnstown. The company is currently negotiating for its 16th location, in Schenectady.<\/p>\n
