Glens Falls National Bank and Trust Co. has plans to construct a new office near Exit 18 in Queensbury. It will be the company’s 30th office location overall.<\/p>\n
The bank has leased approximately 2,000 square feet of space adjacent to the Stewart’s Shop at the corner of Corinth and Big Bay roads, officials said. It will be the company’s third branch in a lease arrangement with Stewart’s Shops, the other offices being the Route 9 and Bay Road offices, both in Queensbury.<\/p>\n
In addition, the company’s sister bank, Saratoga National, has two locations adjacent to Stewart’s Shops on Ballard Road and Jones Road locations.
\n“With each new branch, we look for the best possible location for our customers in the target market,” said Blake Jones, marketing communications officer for the Glens Falls National. “Generally speaking, Stewart’s Shops have great locations that are convenient, accessible and draw a lot of traffic. And we’ve had great results with the other offices we’ve located alongside their convenience stores.”<\/p>\n
According to Jones, the bank has been looking to serve the Exit 18 region of Queensbury, realizing that their customers in this area typically travel to their Broad Street, Aviation Road, or Glens Falls locations.<\/p>\n
“This will be a more convenient stop for them,” she said. “Also, the Exit 18 corridor has seen a lot of development in recent years, and we are excited about the opportunities that presents. ”<\/p>\n
Hilltop Construction is handling renovations to an existing building that was used previously for retail. Plans include adding two drive-through lanes and a drive-up ATM, as well as renovating the interior to meet the bank’s needs.<\/p>\n
The new location is expected to open this summer, creating three new jobs within the company.<\/p>\n
“We are excited to serve the busy Exit 18 corridor with this new office,” said bank President and CEO Thomas J.
