Campbell<\/p>\n<p>Vermont-based Bennington Furniture announced the grand opening of its sixth store, the first in New York, coming Labor Day, Sept. 2.<\/p>\n<p>Company President and CEO Michael Fiacco said Bennington Furniture is &#8220;rolling out a new concept and new brand&#8221; at the Queensbury location at 63 Quaker Road, former home of Dreamhouse Furniture.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The concept is actually a store within a store, or a brand within a brand,&#8221; said Fiacco. The new brand is called America First Mattress and More, a line of bedding and bedroom furniture, Fiacco said.<br \/>\n&#8220;We believe products that are made in America are becoming more important in general as well as to the local economy,&#8221; he said, adding that Vermont artisans craft the new line.<\/p>\n<p>The America First showroom is accessible by a separate entrance from the traditional side, or Bennington Furniture, showroom. However once inside, visitors can access either store. Fiacco said it &#8220;logistically makes sense&#8221; to have a store in the North Country. Residents of New York communities have long brought their business to the original Bennington store and other Vermont locations, as well shopped on the corporate website, www.benningtonfurniture.com.<\/p>\n<p>Fiacco said he heard about the opportunity when a real estate agent who is located in the Quaker Road space approached him, saying that the owner of Dreamhouse Furniture was retiring.<\/p>\n<p>Fiacco said he is very excited about the new store and that it took more than six weeks to remodel the existing structure.<\/p>\n<p>Fiacco has been at the helm of Bennington Furniture since 2007 when his mother, Denise Cyr, who founded the business in 1986, retired. Fiacco immediately launched a fourth store in West Dover, Vt., and later in 2010, the fifth store in Rutland, also on Labor Day.<\/p>\n<p>The Bennington Furniture stores are predicated on catering to the masses with every-day furniture and accessories. The retailer carries all qualities of product, Fiacco said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We can sell a sofa for $299 to $4,999,&#8221; he said. &#8220;We carry about 50 trusted brands, although our two stores in the mountains carry more lodge furniture than a range of other styles.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Bennington Furniture claims a 10 to 20 percent savings over other retailers, which Fiacco attributes to their &#8220;buying better&#8221; and operating on low margins.<\/p>\n<p>Customer who want interior design assistance can access Bennington&#8217;s services for free.
