The Washington County Local Development Corp. is again partnering with Warren County LDC and SUNY Adirondack Continuing Education to present the fall 2013 session of the Microenterprise Assistance Small Business Program.<\/p>\n
The program is held Monday nights from 6-8 p.m. in Washington Hall on the SUNY Adirondack campus on the following dates: Sept. 9, 16, 23 and 30; Oct. 7, 21and 28; and Nov. 4, 11 and 18.<\/p>\n
The course is intended for entrepreneurs looking to open a new business or those wanting to expand an existing small business.
\nOrganizers said the course is designed to provide candidates with in-depth coverage of the business planning and operational process.<\/p>\n
Each session offers information relevant to building and utilizing an effective business plan and covers other critical topics such as advertising, budgeting and bookkeeping, legal issues, insurance requirements, taxes, human resources, and financing strategies.<\/p>\n
SCORE kicks the course off by providing an overview of building a business plan and how to use that plan to succeed, grow and thrive. Every session brings an area professional to the classroom to discuss best practices from his\/her respective field.<\/p>\n

The fee is $150 for each participant. In addition to learning valuable startup and expansion information, completing the course qualifies candidates to apply for funding a start up business in Washington or Warren counties.<\/p>\n
