At regular intervals during the past dozen or so years, particularly on her birthday, she would think about pursuing it as a career.<\/p>\n<p>Two years ago, she finally took the plunge and enrolled at the Aesthetic Science Institute in Latham. After graduating and passing the New York state licensing exam for aestheticians, she began to consider her options. She didn&#8217;t want to work for someone else. But, she also knew the costs associated with leasing her own commercial space.<br \/>\nSo, she decided to take a more creative entrepreneurial path and instead opened A Vanity Affair Mobile Day Spa.<\/p>\n<p>Packing the necessary equipment and products into her car, Weaver was open for business. Two years later she is busy offering full skin care services, including facials, clinical treatments, microdermabrasion, and rejuvenating body polish treatments.<\/p>\n<p>Weaver has provided spa treatments poolside, on balconies with scenic overlooks, and in living rooms and kitchens. With no overhead, other than gasoline for her automobile and the cost of products, she is poised to take her business to a new level and expand her geographical reach.<\/p>\n<p>So far, Weaver&#8217;s business has been concentrated in the 25-mile radius around Glens Falls, but her true vision is to expand her business to include offering spa treatments to clients throughout the Capital District.<\/p>\n<p>To date, she said she doesn&#8217;t have any competition. &#8220;The only other people offering a mobile service are massage therapists,&#8221; said Weaver. &#8220;So this is very unique.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>She has her a website, www.avanityaffairdayspa.com, as well as a microsite through the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce. She also utilizes social media, and A Vanity Affair Mobile Day Spa can be found on Linked In, Facebook, and Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;My prices are very competitive,&#8221; she said. She is careful to offer comparable spa treatments at prices that are in line with what clients would pay if they had to go the a day spa. But, she also recognizes that some people would rather go to an actual spa for their treatments, and she has rented a studio in the recently opened Bella Ridge Salon and Spa at 147 Ridge Street, Glens Falls.<\/p>\n<p>To schedule an appointment, call Weaver at 222-2984.<\/p>\n<p>Bella Ridge Salon and Spa has been open since February. Owned by Michael Choppa, who purchased the building five years ago, Bella Ridge has seven hair stylists, one nail technician, as well as licensed aesthetician Weaver. Plans are also in the works to add a massage therapist.<\/p>\n<p>Choppa completely renovated the building soon after it was purchased. He plans to begin improvements to the exterior.<\/p>\n<p>Bella Ridge offers a complete menu of hair services, including color, cuts, wash and style, and smoothing treatments. Hair and nail products include Redken, Goldwell, Surface, Kenra Colors, and OPI. A grand opening is being planned and the date and time, when determined, can be found on Facebook.<\/p>\n<p>Bella Ridge can be reached for appointments and more information at 281-3715.
