Forty-one high school seniors and college students received a combined total of $61,000 in SCA scholarships for their full-time education at an accredited U.S. or Canadian university in 2012-2013.<\/p>\n<div class=\"img-left\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"thumbnail image for pg7-sca-lauren cameron.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.glensfalls.com\/glensfallsbusinessjournal\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/109\/2013\/08\/pg7-sca-lauren20cameron.jpg\" width=\"125\" height=\"187\" class=\"aligncenter\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"img-caption\">\n<\/div>\n<p><em>Lauren Cameron<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our employees have made our business what it is today,&#8221; said John O&#8217;Rourke, vice president human resources, SCA Americas. &#8220;SCA is delighted to help their children strive for success by providing education scholarships to these well-deserving students. These talented young adults have demonstrated a deep commitment to their schools and communities that we are proud to support.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The SCA Scholarship winners in our region include:<\/p>\n<p>Lauren Cameron of Salem, SUNY College at Oneonta, $1,000<\/p>\n<p>Carli Jankowski of South Glens Falls, College of Saint Rose, $2,500<\/p>\n<p>Stephanie Smith of Greenwich, SUNY College at New Paltz, $1,000<\/p>\n<div class=\"img-left\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"pg7-sca-carli jankowski.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.glensfalls.com\/glensfallsbusinessjournal\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/109\/2013\/08\/pg7-sca-carli20jankowski.jpg\" width=\"125\" height=\"187\" class=\"aligncenter\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"img-caption\">\n<\/div>\n<p><em>Carli Jankowski<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Since creating its annual scholarship program five years ago, SCA has given more than $300,000 to children of its employees. The company invites all high school seniors and college students who are enrolled full-time for the coming school year and whose parents have been employed by SCA for more than one year to apply. Students must be age 24 or under to qualify.<\/p>\n<p>An independent organization, Scholarship America, reviewed all the applications and selected the 41 winners, based on their academic achievements, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and an outside appraisal.<\/p>\n<div class=\"img-left\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"pg7-sca-stephanie smith.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.glensfalls.com\/glensfallsbusinessjournal\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/109\/2013\/08\/pg7-sca-stephanie20smith.jpg\" width=\"125\" height=\"187\" class=\"aligncenter\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"img-caption\">\n<\/div>\n<p><em>Stephanie Smith<\/em><\/p>\n<p>SCA has approximately 400 employees in upstate New York at its mill in South Glens Falls, converting facility in Greenwich and distribution center in Saratoga.
