Radio station Froggy 107.1 (107.1 WFFG-FM), owned and operated locally by Queensbury-based Adirondack Broadcasting, has announced the hiring of Chris O’Neil as Program Director. O’Neil joins Froggy from 105.3 Cat Country (105.3 WJEN-FM), based in Rutland, VT, where he was afternoon host and Promotions Director.<\/p>\n
O’Neil began his career in radio as an intern at WORK\/WSNO in his hometown of Barre, VT in 1997. He left Vermont to attend The New England School of Communications in 1998. Soon after, O’Neil joined Clear Channel in Bangor, ME and was Midday host on WGUY, Nights on WBFB (The Bear Country) and overnights on WWBX (B97.1 CHR).<\/p>\n
O’Neil then held positions at WLFE in St. Albans, VT. and WEXP The Fox in Rutland, VT By 2008 he became the Promotions Director and Afternoon personality for WJEN (105.3 Cat Country).<\/p>\n
O’Neil is heavily involved in his community as a committee member for the local Relay For Life, helping plan events to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research hospital and other charities in the area.<\/p>\n
