Coming soon to an exit near you, Ambrosia Diner! With an anticipated opening date of late September or early October, Ambrosia Diner will be located 518 Aviation Road in Queensbury, just off the Northway at exit 19. Previously this location housed a Howard Johnson’s Motel and 7 Steers Restaurant.<\/p>\n
Owner Dennis Pilarinos, having worked in diners as a young man, decided to venture out on his own, and opened his first diner, Columbia Diner, in 1994. The Columbia Diner in Hudson has since been sold, but Dennis now owns 3 other diners; Capital City Diner in Albany, Ambrosia Diner in Catskill, and Plaza Diner in Hudson. The Ambrosia Diner in Queensbury will be the 4th.<\/p>\n
The Ambrosia Diner’s Queensbury location will offer a typical diner menu including items such as omelets, cheeseburgers and some saut\u00e9 dishes. The diner will also feature healthier choices such as specialty salads.<\/p>\n
Dennis’ long term experience, combined with new ideas from his family, including daughter Tina and son Bob, will set Ambrosia Diner apart from others. Dennis and his family often travel to different food shows, learning new techniques and gaining valuable information about running a successful diner. They also travel to New York City and bring fresh new menu ideas from the city.<\/p>\n
The Capital City Diner is well known for its award winning cheesecakes. Dennis Polarinos has an impeccable history in the Catskills for running a nice and clean establishment, and his son- in- law Saki Pyrneas, who is also active in the business, says they will bring all of their experience to the new diner to make it a success.<\/p>\n
“The Queensbury location is attractive because of its prime location, just off of exit 19, with the population increase in the area and the diversity of the population,” says Saki.<\/p>\n
The Ambrosia Diner is a member of the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce, and a member of Pan Gregorian Enterprises, a food service cooperative.<\/p>\n
