Here’s a friendly reminder that the deadline for submitting your firm’s business plan in the EDC Warren County Business Plan Competition is July 31. If you’re serious about competing for a parcel of land – at no land cost – in the Queensbury Business Park, you’d better have your plan underway.<\/p>\n
EDC Vice President John Wheatley reports that there has been considerable interest expressed in the business plan competition, which was designed to encourage development and provide employment opportunities for the region. The winning firm is expected to erect a building of up to 25,000 square feet and to create at least ten full-time equivalent jobs on site.<\/p>\n
“We recognize that while there is no cost for the land, taking advantage of this offer will require a significant investment on the part of the winning firm,” he said. “This naturally limits the number of companies that might choose to enter the competition.” Still, the contest is real, and the stakes are high. The winning firm will take possession of a shovel-ready parcel worth $200,000 to $250,000.<\/p>\n
