WWARC, the Warren & Washington Counties Chapter of NYSARC, Inc., recently kicked off its 2012 Membership Campaign. The organization serves over 360 individuals in Warren and Washington Counties with intellectual and developmental disabilities.<\/p>\n
During the 2011 Membership Campaign, WWARC increased its membership by almost 500% and gained more representation on the NYSARC, Inc. Board of Governors, which helped to strengthen the voice of the local chapter. A larger membership provides a louder and stronger voice that is heard by state legislators and national policy makers. Support from the local community in the form of membership allows more individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families to access WWARC programs and services.<\/p>\n
It is the vision of the WWARC to be the best at supporting people with disabilities and their families by empowering them to make choices about their lives and the services they receive. We envision a future where all people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are fully included as members of a community that embraces the diversity of all people.<\/p>\n
