United Way’s Outstanding Achievement Award went to Glens Falls National Bank for surpassing all previous year’s contributions\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Tri-County United Way recently hosted a recognition event, celebrating the conclusion of this year’s annual campaign. Two hundred local supporters attended the traditional breakfast event, which was held at The Queensbury Hotel.<\/p>\n

Tim Robinson of NBT Bank, campaign chairperson, thanked all in attendance for their enthusiastic support of the work of the local United Way. He remarked that the monies raised this year were especially critical, given the increasing needs of the local, non-profit agencies.
\nRick Emanuel, Tri-County United Way Board President, and Publisher of The Post Star, presented the new Outstanding Achievement Award to Glens Falls National Bank and Trust Company. He noted that the Bank, through a workplace campaign in support of United Way, employee participation in all committees, and corporate support, had this year surpassed all previous year’s donations.<\/p>\n

Barbara Sweet, Executive Director of the Tri-County United Way, recognized the following as recipients of the Community Partner Awards: Adirondack Rural Health Network; Glens Falls Hospital; Glens Falls National Bank and Trust Company; Regional Radio Group; Six Flags Great Escape; and the Glens Falls Family YMCA. The annual competition between local school districts, The Helping Hand Award, was given to the Glens Falls City School District. The Mario Scarselletta, Jr. Community Service Award was presented to Irving Tissue Inc.<\/p>\n

Other awardees include: the Community Commitment Award, in recognition of companies which are extraordinarily committed to the Tri-County United Way mission, to: Covidien; C R Bard; Glens Falls Hospital; Irving Tissue; National Grid; Navilyst Medical; and Tribune Media Services.<\/p>\n

Community Impact Awards were presented to the following: Gold Level: Glens Falls National Bank and Trust Company; Tribune Media Services; Navilyst Medical; Glens Falls Hospital; C R Bard; Target NE Regional Distribution Center; Irving Tissue Inc.; and National Grid. Silver Level awardees were: Andritz, Inc.; United Parcel Service; TD Bank; Glens Falls City School District; Queensbury Union Free School District; Price Chopper-The Golub Corporation; SCA Tissue-South Glens Falls; and SCA Tissue-Greenwich. Bronze Level awards were: Travelers Insurance; NBT Bank; Finch Paper LLC; Hannaford-Broad Street; Target Retail; Warren County Employees; Valero Energy Services; Hudson Falls School District; and Hannaford Queensbury.<\/p>\n

Barbara Sweet presented commemorative recognition awards to this year’s participants in the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Adirondack class, for their extraordinary amount of volunteer service both to the Tri-County United Way and to other community organizations. Patti Pepe, of ARCC, also was recognized for her leadership of the LADK class.<\/p>\n

Kate Hogan, Warren County District Attorney, presented the Volunteer of the Year Award to Kevin O’Brien, of O’Brien Insurance. Mr. O’Brien has been a volunteer with the United Way for many years, serving on a variety of committees.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
