New York State’s largest government programs-based health plan is hiring, with jobs available in areas such as Marketing, Information Technology, Provider Relations, Quality Health Care Management, Nursing, Pharmacy, Finance, and more.<\/p>\n
For the Human Resources team that is charged with employee recruitment for Fidelis Care, it’s been a perplexing dilemma – particularly during a time of economic uncertainty – that many of these openings have been hard to fill with qualified candidates.<\/p>\n
While many companies downsized and laid off staff during the recent recession, Fidelis Care expanded the number of counties served to 59, increased the size of its workforce to more than 1,500, and more than doubled its membership from 350,000 in December 2007, to over 745,000 today.<\/p>\n
\nThis steady growth, combined with a planned expansion of managed long-term care programs on the horizon, highlights Fidelis Care as a stable regional and Statewide employer where the outlook is positive and the prospects for job security are high, explained Peg Brubaker, Chief Human Resources Officer.<\/p>\n
To attract qualified staff, Fidelis Care attends and sponsors job fairs, works with college career placement departments, and promotes openings on fideliscare.org as well as other employment sites. Today’s recruitment efforts are also going beyond more traditional strategies to reach potential candidates not only with jobs, but also with the message of the Fidelis Care mission, based on service to the poor and medically underserved.<\/p>\n
