The Adirondack Regional Chamber
\nof Commerce (ARCC) announce the Leadership Adirondack class of 2013-
\n2014.<\/p>\n
Leadership Adirondack is a long-standing
\nprogram of the Chamber, now in its 24th
\nyear. For the first time in the history of the
\nprogram the class reached its maximum
\nparticipation level at 24 class members,
\nofficials said.<\/p>\n
As in past years, this year’s class is a
\ndiverse group of people, representing businesses
\nin the region such as nonprofits,
\ntourism, banking, insurance, and educational
\nsectors, the Chamber said.
\n“We are very pleased with the number
\nand diversity in this year’s class,” said Peter
\nAust, ARCC president\/CEO.
\nThe program kicked off with a “get acquainted” reception where the class was able to meet one another and past alumni.<\/p>\n
The program runs from October through January and includes nine specific area business-related sessions. It ends with a graduation celebration in February.<\/p>\n
During the five-month program, participants will also learn how nonprofit organizations help make a stronger community, in addition, they will gain a better understanding of the needs and challenges these organizations face.<\/p>\n
Each participant is required to attend a board of directors meeting of a local nonprofit organization and report back to the class. Participants will also individually perform a “Day of Caring” for a nonprofit, as well as, donate their time and efforts to complete a meaningful community project as a group.<\/p>\n
Graduates of the program agree to continue to strengthen their community involvement once the program is completed.<\/p>\n
Participants are selected by an eight person Advisory Council which reviews and approves each application. This year’s group includes: Jared Humiston of Adirondack Tech Solutions, Landrie Brock of Adirondack Theatre Festival, Lisa Doyle of Adirondack Trust Co., Mary Ellen Zebrowski of the ARCC, Tray Ross of Big Brothers Big Sisters, Arlette St. Romain of Chazen Companies, Gregory Chance of Fitzgerald Brothers Beverage Inc., Tracy Mills of Glens Falls Hospital, Ian Williams of Glens Falls National Bank, Leslie D’Angelico of Glens Falls National Bank, Angela Petrone of Hudson Headwaters Health Network.<\/p>\n
Evi Fisher of the Hyde Museum, Leslie Kendall of Kendall & Associates, Kelly Rose Bolton of NBT Bank, Darlene Hayes of Prudential Manor Homes, Chris Bradway of Sagamore Resort, Danielle Audette of Stanclift, Ludermann.<\/p>\n
