\nGlens Falls Hospital officials reinforced
\ntheir collaborative relationship with the
\nsigning of a five-year agreement focusing
\non lab services.<\/p>\n
Officials said the agreement establishes
\nGlens Falls Hospital as the primary processor
\nfor lab tests ordered at Hudson Headwaters’
\nhealth centers.<\/p>\n
“It just makes sense,” said Dianne Shugrue,
\nGlens Falls Hospital president\/CEO.
\n“Both our organizations strive to provide
\nhigh quality and accessible health care
\nservices in our region. By working together
\nto get lab work results processed more efficiently,
\nit’s a win-win – both for our patients
\nand our organizations.”
\n“We are looking for ways to work more closely with Glens Falls Hospital and this is a significant step,” said Dr. John Rugge, CEO of Hudson Headwaters. “It’s good for both organizations and good for our patients. We continue to work together to collaborate on improving care for the patients of our region.”<\/p>\n
The agreement, which encompasses more than 100,000 laboratory tests annually, goes into effect at the beginning of October for Hudson Headwaters’ five health centers in the greater Glens Falls area, said officials.<\/p>\n
These include the Fort Edward-Kingsbury Health Center, the Health Center on Broad Street, Moreau Family Health, Queensbury Family Health and West Mountain Primary Care.<\/p>\n
Hudson Headwaters’ health centers from Warrensburg north will be phased in by the end of the year, officials said.<\/p>\n
Patients can continue to have their labs drawn where it is most convenient for them, Rugge said. He noted that the new agreement will also make it easier for specialists at Glens Falls Hospital to see lab results for Hudson Headwaters’ patients.<\/p>\n
He said the agreement with Glens Falls Hospital does not include lab work for patients of Hudson Headwaters’ northernmost health centers in Champlain, Moriah and Ticonderoga, as well as its Glens Falls-based North Country Obstetrics and Gynecology.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
