The event also included free food, a visit from the Easter Bunny, and the Fort Edward Police Department provided child ID finger-printing kits and gun locks.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the main office of the bank raised almost $800 for Relay for Life, an overnight walk on May 30 that raises funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society, during a Community Appreciation Day on May 23.<\/p>\n<p>The bank held various fundraisers, including selling hot dogs, conducting a bake sale and having luminaries for purchase in memory or honor of loved ones.<\/p>\n<p>\t*\t*\t*<\/p>\n<p>Locally owned and operated Henssgen Hardware Corp. and Haber&#8217;s Export Agency announced a change in ownership.<\/p>\n<p>Previously owned by Ronald and Nancy Shaw, the business was purchased by their daughter, Rachel Shaw Novak.<\/p>\n<p>Henssgen\/Haber&#8217;s has been in Queensbury since 1984.<\/p>\n<p>The company recently received national certification as a Women&#8217;s Business Enterprise (WBE) and Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB) by the Women Presidents&#8217; Educational Organization, a regional certifying partner of the Women&#8217;s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).<\/p>\n<p>*\t*\t*<\/p>\n<p>The Washington County Fair Inc. will give away four $500 scholarships to students for the 2014-15 school year.<\/p>\n<p>Eligible<br \/>\napplicants are those students who have been, or are currently active in<br \/>\nthe fair, and who will be students at an accredited institution of<br \/>\nhigher learning during the 2014-15 term.<\/p>\n<p>The scholarship program<br \/>\nwas established as an extension of the educational purpose of the<br \/>\nWashington County Fair. This scholarship is issued directly to the<br \/>\nrecipient.<\/p>\n<p>The recipients of the 2013 &#8211; 2014 scholarships were:<br \/>\nJustin Braun of Cambridge, Breana Renae Scribner of Argyle, Suzanne K<br \/>\nFoote of Hartford and Sandra Dorothy Andrew of Eagle Bridge.<\/p>\n<p>Applications<br \/>\nmust be completed online and printed out. They can be found at<br \/>\nwww.washingtoncountyfair.com. All applications must be completed and<br \/>\npost marked or dropped off on or before 4 p.m. Aug. 1. They can be<br \/>\ndropped off or mailed to: the Washington County Fair Inc., 392 Old<br \/>\nSchuylerville Road, Greenwich, NY 12834.<\/p>\n<p>*\t*\t*<\/p>\n<p>Arrow<br \/>\nFinancial Corp. , parent company of Saratoga National Bank and Trust<br \/>\nCo., was recognized by Forbes as one of &#8220;America&#8217;s 50 Most Trustworthy<br \/>\nFinancial Companies&#8221; for its accounting and governance practices.<\/p>\n<p>It<br \/>\nis the third consecutive year the Glens Falls-based company has<br \/>\nreceived the designation. Arrow is the only upstate New York financial<br \/>\ninstitution on the list.<\/p>\n<p>To create its &#8220;Most Trustworthy&#8221; lists,<br \/>\nForbes enlists GMI Ratings, a proprietary ratings provider and<br \/>\ninvestment advisor, to evaluate over 8,000 publicly traded companies<br \/>\nbased on factors such as high-risk events, revenue and expense<br \/>\nrecognition methods, SEC actions and bankruptcy risk. The financial<br \/>\ncompany&#8217;s list includes the 50 banks and insurance companies with the<br \/>\nhighest scores over the past four quarters of the fiscal year.<\/p>\n<p>GMI<br \/>\nChief Executive James A. Wood Cancer Center at Glens Falls<br \/>\nHospital and the American Academy of Dermatology will hold a free skin<br \/>\ncancer screening clinic from 9 a.m. to noon May 17 at the center, 100<br \/>\nPark St., Glens Falls.<\/p>\n<p>This event is open to the public.<br \/>\nIndividuals with no insurance are especially encouraged to participate.<br \/>\nAppointments are needed. Wood Cancer<br \/>\nCenter at 926-6640.<\/p>\n<p>*\t*\t*<\/p>\n<p>The Fund for Lake George is<br \/>\nproviding a grant of $10,000 to the Lake George Park Commission for<br \/>\ntraining approximately 50 boat inspection technicians.<\/p>\n<p>The<br \/>\nfour-day training commenced on April 28 and includes a comprehensive<br \/>\ncurriculum covering all aspects of inspection and decontamination of<br \/>\ntrailered boats. Inspection and decontamination is central to the Park<br \/>\nCommission&#8217;s Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Prevention Program set to<br \/>\nbegin on May 15 on Lake George.<\/p>\n<p>For nearly a decade, The Fund for<br \/>\nLake George has been a major underwriter of programs to treat existing<br \/>\ninvasive species, including Eurasian water milfoil and Asian clams.<\/p>\n<p>*\t*\t*<\/p>\n<p>GlobalFoundries&#8217; parent company, Advanced Technology Investment Co., is changing its name to Mubadala Technology.<\/p>\n<p>The<br \/>\nAbu Dhabi-based company said the change was spurred by the growth and<br \/>\nmaturity of computer chip manufacturer GlobalFoundries.<\/p>\n<p>GlobalFoundries,<br \/>\nwhich operates a chip factory in Malta, was established by Advanced<br \/>\nTechnology Investment Co. and Advanced Micro Devices in 2009.
