SUNY Adirondack has received approval from the State University of New York and Empire State Development to move forward with Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s START-UP NY program.
\nSTART-UP NY provides tax-free incentives for new and growing businesses that will support SUNY Adirondack’s academic mission and contribute to the economic development of our region.<\/p>\n
Businesses in this program are located on or near college campuses and operate tax-free for 10 years.<\/p>\n
“START-UP NY is a great opportunity to cultivate partnerships with local businesses to provide our students with hands-on learning experiences that complement their education and to be part of economic growth for our region” said Dr. Kristine Duffy, president of SUNY Adirondack.<\/p>\n
Duffy said the college is looking forward to working with the Economic Development Corporations (EDC) of Warren, Washington, and Saratoga Counties to help identify potential businesses.<\/p>\n
