Barkeater Chocolates of North Creek
\nin the Adirondacks was honored with a
\nBusiness Excellence Award during a recent
\nluncheon held at the Marriott Hotel
\nin Albany.<\/p>\n
Nominated by SBDC North Country’s
\nAndy Allison, Barkeater was among select
\nbusinesses in upstate New York to receive
\nthe award. Deb and Jim Morris, co-owners,
\nwere on hand to receive the award at the
\nluncheon.<\/p>\n
The Excellence Awards celebrate the
\nbusiness community leaders for their small
\nbusiness successes. Its goal, according to
\nBernard J. Paprocki, SBA Syracuse District
\ndirector, and Patrick MacKrell, NYBDC
\npresident and CEO, is to “honor the individuals
\nwhose passion and perseverance
\npersonify the American dream.”
\nThe program, through State University
\nof New York, is designed to advise small
\nbusinesses throughout the state on how
\nto facilitate growth and encourage entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n

\nwas selected because of their growth and
\nincreased market share since the business
