When adding up the years of home
\nimprovement experience between Jason
\nMiles and Mike Winters, it comes to over
\n40. The two combined forces recently after
\nthe sluggish economy was taking its toll on
\ntheir individual talents.<\/p>\n

Now, the two are hopeful as they begin
\na Fort Edward-based business, Accurate
\nUpkeep.<\/p>\n

Miles said the two have known each
\nother for years and knew if they partnered
\nup they would be able to provide almost
\nany possible service needed. He said they
\nwere both feeling the effects of a slowing
\neconomy and he was not ready to work for
\nsomeone else or at a larger business.
\nAs owner of Accurate Concrete for 22
\nyears, Miles said he knew it was time to
\nfind a partner.
\n“Mike has a great reputation and
\nthrough the years we have built up a
\nrelationship with literally thousands. I
\nknew together we would be able to be full
\nservice and really reach a lot of people,”
\nsaid Miles.<\/p>\n

The business is based out of the Fort
\nEdward area, but they work with homeowners
\nand contractors all over the Capital
\nRegion. What makes them different is the range of jobs they perform, said Miles.
\nHe said they are available for everything
\nfrom lawn care and driveways, to masonry,
\nwashing windows, and kitchen renovations.<\/p>\n

He added that they also look to help
\npeople with jobs that may be too small for
\nlarger contractors, such as changing a
\ndoorknob. The mantra and philosophy of
\ntheir business is that no job is too small
\nand they are happy to take on the large
\nones as well.<\/p>\n

“We want to help homeowners in any
\nsituation and if it is something we don’t
\nget into, such as heating systems, we
\nhave people who we know and trust who
\ncontract with. We use all local resources
\nwho we have built relationships with,”
\nsaid Miles.<\/p>\n

Miles said the response so far has been
\nvery positive. He said most people like to
\nturn to who they know, especially when
\nit comes to their home. They recently
\nstarted up a Facebook page to help spread
\nthe word.
\n“Within hours our Facebook page had
\nover 100 likes. People like to stay local,”
\nsaid Miles.<\/p>\n
