Gracecom Communications, a multi-regional
\ntelecommunications company founded in
\n1983, recently installed a new fiber-connected
\nphone system for Stewart’s Shops Corp.<\/p>\n
Over 500 phones are linked between Stewart’s
\ncorporate headquarters, distribution
\nand manufacturing facility and credit union
\nthrough one hybrid\/IP system using high-speed
\nfiber-optic lines, company officials said.<\/p>\n
The new phone system supports Stewart’s
\ngrowing mobile workforce by keeping employees
\nbetter connected with colleagues, customers
\nand vendors.
\n“Many people are using mobile extension –
\nforwarding the call from their desk system to
\ntheir cell phone,” said Lou Bush, IT Manager
\nfor Stewart’s Shops. “It keeps the team informed
\nand ready to respond quickly, wherever
\nthey are.”<\/p>\n
In addition to a new hybrid phone system,
\nGracecom replaced Stewart’s beeper system
\nwith an automated call system using Interactive
\nVoice Response technology, the company
\nsaid. The new call system, being tested in
\nselect Stewart’s Shops, allows automated
\nscheduling and call mapping to connect mobile
\ntechnicians with other employees for service
\ncalls.<\/p>\n
The system finds the right technician based
\non the store location, and if they are unreachable,
\ncan escalate the request to another technician,
\nallowing service calls to be handled
\nquickly and easily, officials said.<\/p>\n
Gracecom Communications provides a
\npersonalized customer-service experience,
\nestablishing long-term relationships with
\ncustomers. It was an important factor for
\nStewart’s when evaluating partners, said Bush.<\/p>\n
“It was important to have a local company.
\nWe’re buying a national-level system, but it’s
\nbeing maintained and sold by a company we
\nfelt was the right size, with the capabilities and
\nexpertise to provide support,” he said.<\/p>\n
