Finalizes Buying Of Land, Will Start Construction Of Building In 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"img-left\">\n<div>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"hacker runabout hc.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.glensfalls.com\/glensfallsbusinessjournal\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/109\/2014\/10\/hacker20runabout20hc.jpg\" class=\"aligncenter\" height=\"225\" width=\"300\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"img-caption\">This hand-crafted mahogany runabout is among the type of boats that will be built in a new facility Hacker Boat Co. will construct in the Queensbury Business Park next year\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Hacker Boat Co. finalized its purchase of<br \/>\nproperty in Queensbury Business Park from EDC<br \/>\nWarren County and its affiliate, Hudson River<br \/>\nLocal Development Corp.<\/p>\n<p>The builder of luxury hand-crafted mahogany<br \/>\nboats will begin constructing a new boat manufacturing,<br \/>\nrestoration and office facility in 2015,<br \/>\nofficials said.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed facility received Town of<br \/>\nQueensbury Planning Board approval in April.<br \/>\nConstruction of the $3 million, 90,000-squarefoot<br \/>\nbuilding will take place on three adjacent<br \/>\nparcels in the park totaling 17 acres, EDC said.<br \/>\nThe park is located off Queensbury Avenue<br \/>\n(County Line Road), just south of the Warren<br \/>\nCounty Airport, which was cited by Hacker Boat<br \/>\nCo. as an important factor in its location decision.<br \/>\nThe company projects future employment of<br \/>\n80 people in the new facility.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This closing with Hacker Boat Company<br \/>\nrepresents a milestone in EDC&#8217;s overall vision for attracting businesses to additional commercial<br \/>\nand industrial land throughout Warren County,&#8221;<br \/>\nsaid Edward Bartholomew, president of EDC<br \/>\nWarren County.<\/p>\n<p>The Hacker Boat Co., owned by Erin Investments<br \/>\nLLC, is said to be the largest American<br \/>\nmanufacturer of classic mahogany motorboats.<br \/>\nAccording to the company, each Hacker-Craft is<br \/>\nhand crafted by master boat builders who labor<br \/>\nover 1,400 hours to build every boat.<br \/>\nThe company builds runabouts, sport boats,<br \/>\nlaunches, yacht tenders, utilities and custom<br \/>\ndesigned boats.<\/p>\n<p>The 56-acre Queensbury Business Park, developed<br \/>\nand marketed by EDC Warren County,<br \/>\nhas lots ranging from two to nine acres, with a<br \/>\npark road and infrastructure elements already<br \/>\nin place. Of the original nine lots, five remain<br \/>\navailable for development.
