The building features exposed<br \/>\nbrick interiors, white columns and hardwood<br \/>\nflooring.<br \/>\nSince opening in December, the Huntingtons<br \/>\nsaid they have received a lot of<br \/>\npositive feedback from the community.<br \/>\nThey respect the opinions of their neighbors<br \/>\nand encourage people to tell them<br \/>\nwhat kinds of features they would like to<br \/>\nsee at Historic Grounds.<br \/>\n&#8220;We wanted it to be a community place,<br \/>\nbecause Whitehall has a lot of history,&#8221;<br \/>\nsaid Nat.<\/p>\n<p>Originally, the shop was going to be a takeout-only lunch establishment, until<br \/>\npeople voiced their opinions they wanted<br \/>\nsomewhere to eat a full sit-down breakfast<br \/>\nand lunch.<br \/>\n&#8220;The community has been very supportive,&#8221;<br \/>\nhe said.<\/p>\n<p>The owners said all food is freshly prepared<br \/>\nand cooked on location. The meats,<br \/>\nsuch as turkey, corned beef, and ham, are<br \/>\nroasted and carved on premise. Baked<br \/>\nitems such as muffins and popovers are<br \/>\nbaked directly in the kitchen, rather than<br \/>\nbeing shipped from a distributor. Coffee<br \/>\nand espresso is roasted at the shop.<\/p>\n<p>Some menu items are named after<br \/>\nhistorical figures in the town. The Ambrose<br \/>\nGilligan, named after a prominent<br \/>\nprincipal and teacher in the Whitehall<br \/>\nschool district, is a sandwich featuring<br \/>\nturkey, bacon, ranch dressing, lettuce and<br \/>\ntomato.
