Springbrook Hollow Distillery has
\njoined the growing list of small craft
\nbreweries in the region.<\/p>\n

The business opened in November at
\nthe base of Sugarloaf Mountain in the
\nfoothills of the Adirondacks, at 133 Clements
\nRoad, Queensbury, started by four
\nfriends: Dave Bannon, Mike Forcier, Ken
\nRohne, and Tony DeSantis.<\/p>\n

The distillery produces vodka, gin,
\nand moonshine. The lineup includes
\nTwo Sisters vodka, made with organic
\nNew York state wheat and hints of fruit
\nand spices; Sly Fox Gin, made with
\njuniper berries and fresh Springbrook
\nHollow water from the Adirondacks;
\nand Howl at Moonshine, an un-aged
\nmoonshine with spicy notes.
\nSoon they will also be adding wood
\nbarrels to their distillery and crafting
\nwhiskey, the owners said.<\/p>\n

They said the spirits are produced in
\na custom made copper pot. Spirits are
\ncrafted one small batch at a time. Clean,
\nunprocessed water gives the product a
\nunique taste. Springbrook Hollow uses
\nnon-GMO corn, wheat and other organic
\ngrains for their spirits.<\/p>\n

“We use all New York state products,”
\nsaid Bannon. “Our products are as local
\nas we can get them.”<\/p>\n

The co-owners spent months renovating
\na barn that they turned into the
\ntasting room. The barn is located on
\na 200-acre piece of property. Guests
\ncan come to the tasting room and sit
\noutside in the outdoor patio, enjoying
\nthe scenic views of the Adirondacks and
\nthe wildlife.
\n“The location is really beautiful,” said
\nBannon.<\/p>\n

Springbrook Hollow products can be purchased at several locations including
\nMohan’s in Queensbury and Gateway
\nLiquor in Warrensburg. Their spirits
\ncan also be purchased at their tasting
\nroom in Queensbury. In the future,
\nSpringbrook Hollow will add to their
\ndistribution, hoping to include other
\nliquor stores within a 35-mile radius.<\/p>\n

Since opening in November, business
\nat the distillery has been successful,
\nwith many people stopping by to taste
\nthe fine craft spirits, he said.
\n“We’re trying to create quality products
\nand people are responding positively,”
\nsaid Bannon.<\/p>\n

Tours and tastings are available Tuesday
\nthrough Friday, 1-6 p.m.; Saturday
\nand Sunday, noon to 6 p.m. The distillery
\nis closed on Monday.<\/p>\n

All customers must be 21 years old
