The Washington County Local Development
\nCorp., Warren County LDC and SUNY Adirondack
\nContinuing Education will conduct a Microenterprise
\nAssistance Small Business Program beginning
\nFeb. 23 at the SUNY Adirondack campus
\nin Washington Hall.<\/p>\n
The course is held Monday nights from 6-8
\np.m.<\/p>\n
This 10-week course is open to any prospective
\nentrepreneur, as well as existing small businesses,
\nwith 10 or fewer employees, in the region.
\nThe program provides attendees with the
\nresources to build or re-structure an effective
\nbusiness plan and covers other critical topics
\nsuch as advertising, budgeting and bookkeeping,
\nand legal issues, insurance requirements, taxes,
\npermits, and financing strategies.<\/p>\n
This course is designed to provide candidates
\nwith in-depth coverage of the business planning
\nand operational process. Each session offers
\ninformation relevant to building and utilizing
\nan effective business plan.<\/p>\n
SCORE kicks the course off by providing an
\noverview of building a business plan and how
\nto use that plan to succeed, grow and thrive.
\nEvery session brings an area professional to the
\nclassroom to discuss best practices from his\/her
\nrespective field.<\/p>\n
The fee is $150 for each participant. In addition
\nto learning valuable start-up and expansion
\ninformation, completing the course qualifies
\ncandidates to apply for funding a startup or
\nexpanding business in Washington or Warren
\ncounties.<\/p>\n
