She taught herself<br \/>\nweb design as a teenager and was excited<br \/>\nto turn her talents into her own personal<br \/>\nbusiness.<\/p>\n<p>Advokate, at 21 Cooper Street, Suite 201A,<br \/>\nin The Shirt Factory in Glens Falls, offers a<br \/>\nwide variety of services.<br \/>\n&#8220;I&#8217;m flexible and intuitive,&#8221; said Austin-<br \/>\nAvon. &#8220;I really listen to what people need.<br \/>\nMy goal is to meet people at their level. They<br \/>\ncan come to me with any budget and we&#8217;ll<br \/>\nfigure it out.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Austin-Avon specializes in web design,<br \/>\nworking in WordPress to develop customized<br \/>\nwebsites for clients. She offers graphic<br \/>\ndesign services to create brochures, business<br \/>\ncards, posters, and other literature. Social<br \/>\nmedia marketing through Facebook, Twitter<br \/>\nand other sites is another service offered.<br \/>\nRecently, she added event planning to her<br \/>\nlist of services, as well as amity meetings,<br \/>\nwhere she sits with clients to regularly work<br \/>\non their websites and other needs together.<br \/>\nAs a mixed-media artist, Austin-Avon found her niche building websites for other<br \/>\nartists. She also works with small businesses<br \/>\nand non-profits. Some of her clients have included the town of Lake George, the Glens<br \/>\nFalls Symphony, the Glens Falls Collaborative<br \/>\nand the Arts District of Glens Falls.<\/p>\n<p>She was awarded the 2013 Independent<br \/>\nBusiness of the Year Award by the Adirondack<br \/>\nRegional Chamber of Commerce.<\/p>\n<p>Austin-Avon receives a lot of support from<br \/>\nher family. Her husband Cory helps part-time<br \/>\nto run the administrative side of her company.<br \/>\nIn 2012 she had a son, Henry.<\/p>\n<p>She also writes a column for The Chronicle,<br \/>\nFamily Time, about the challenges of<br \/>\nmotherhood and raising a family, balanced<br \/>\nwith running her business.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to her web design agency,<br \/>\nAustin-Avon started a boutique, located in<br \/>\nthe same space as Advokate. In it, she sells<br \/>\na variety of items including baby items, clothing,<br \/>\naccessories, art, jewelry, home decorations,<br \/>\nsoaps, stuffed animals for Easter, and<br \/>\nother items.<\/p>\n<p>The items are handmade and local. The<br \/>\nboutique is open 1-5 p.m., Thursday through<br \/>\nSaturday.<\/p>\n<p>Advokate is eager to help any individual<br \/>\nor business on their web design and marketing<br \/>\nneeds, whether they are an artist,<br \/>\nnon-profit or large company.
