The<br \/>\ntwo have historically each held first and second<br \/>\nposition as most popular remodeling projects<br \/>\nfor years now.<\/p>\n<p>Justin Steinberger, owner of Steinberger<br \/>\nWoodworks, has been in the business of custom<br \/>\ncabinetry for nine years. He said the company<br \/>\nhas experienced stout clientele growth and<br \/>\nhe has seen many design trends throughout<br \/>\nthe years.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have seen a tremendous shift towards<br \/>\npainted cabinetry in gray or white tones,&#8221; he<br \/>\nsaid. &#8220;Occasionally customers will want an accent<br \/>\nof reclaimed wood, but the gray or white<br \/>\ncabinetry is the predominant focus. It is by far<br \/>\nour most popular theme right now, and the<br \/>\ndemand is very high.&#8221;<br \/>\nSteinberger Woodworks has a showroom on<br \/>\nQuaker Road in Queensbury.<br \/>\n&#8220;In past years, brushed cabinetry hardware has been popular,&#8221; he noted. &#8220;However, recently<br \/>\nthere has been a shift towards silver hardware<br \/>\nwith a shiny finish. It lends itself to the popular<br \/>\ngray and white tones very well.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Bathroom and laundry room cabinetry tends<br \/>\nto be paired with small, white floor tiles for<br \/>\na clean, crisp look. Natural hardwood floors<br \/>\nare still very popular in many of the kitchens<br \/>\ncommissioning new cabinetry from Steinberger<br \/>\nWoodworks.<\/p>\n<p>Nadine Cusack, design consultant for Glens<br \/>\nFalls Tile &amp; Supplies in Queensbury, concurs<br \/>\non the trend of the painted cabinet finish,<br \/>\nalthough the Dix Avenue business has seen<br \/>\nmore orders for brown tones recently.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Cabinets with a painted finish are in demand<br \/>\nright now, especially in darker tones like<br \/>\nexpresso and cocoa,&#8221; she said. &#8220;Unpainted wood<br \/>\nisn&#8217;t being requested like it used to. Everyone<br \/>\nwants painted cabinets these days.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Cusack states that quartz countertops<br \/>\nhave become markedly popular over granite,<br \/>\na favorite in past years. As a man-made product, quartz is very low maintenance as a<br \/>\ncountertop.<br \/>\nRegarding kitchen flooring, Cusack said,<br \/>\n&#8220;Many of our customers are asking for tile<br \/>\nthat looks like hardwood flooring.
