Thirty-eight attendees representing
\nAdirondack region hospitals, community based
\norganizations and public health
\ndepartments participated in a recent telehealth
\ndiscussion in Glens Falls.<\/p>\n

Presenter David Johnson defined telehealth,
\nprovided background information
\nand explained how it could benefit the
\nregion. Johnson is a certified telehealth
\nliaison from North Country Healthcare
\nProvider, in partnership with Fort Drum
\nRegional Health Planning Organization.<\/p>\n

The presentation was followed by a panel
\ndiscussion. Telehealth user panelists Dr.
\nAnthony Dowidowicz of Adirondack Health;
\nIrina Gelman, DPM, MPH, PhDc of Fulton
\nCounty Public Health; Sharon Schaldone,
\nRN, BSN, ADPS of Warren County Health
\nServices; and Elizabeth Zicari, RN, BSN,
\nCENP of HCR Home Care shared their experiences
\nas actively engaged telehealth
\nusers.
\nAdirondack Health Institute, a nonprofit
\norganization licensed under the state Public
\nHealth Law as an Article 28 Central Services
\nFacility, expands regional collaboration
\namong health care and social service providers
\nserving the Adirondack region of New
\nYork state. Since 1987, it has been utilizing
\nour relationships, resources, expertise, and
\ncapacity to provide technical assistance and
\nvalue-added services to the regional health care system to build healthy communities.<\/p>\n

\nGlens Falls Hospital, Hudson Headwaters
\nHealth Network and University of Vermont
\nHealth Network – Champlain Valley Physicians
\nHospital, AHI’s mission is to promote,
\nsponsor, and coordinate initiatives and programs

\nand service delivery in the Adirondack
