Prior positions also include<br \/>\nconservation director at the Frenchman<br \/>\nBay Conservancy in Hancock, Me., and land<br \/>\npreservation specialist at the Morris Land<br \/>\nConservancy in Boonton, N.J.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Nancy has built the Lake George Land<br \/>\nConservancy into a strong and solid land<br \/>\ntrust,&#8221; said Brown. &#8220;I am humbled, honored,<br \/>\nand excited to be LGLC&#8217;s next executive<br \/>\ndirector.&#8221;<br \/>\nIn addition to receiving a Bachelor of Arts<br \/>\ndegree from Boston University and master&#8217;s<br \/>\ndegree from the University of Maine, Brown<br \/>\nhas a law degree from Seton Hall University<br \/>\nSchool of Law. As an attorney, Brown practiced<br \/>\nlaw for five years in the areas of real<br \/>\nestate, land use and municipal law.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am really moved by the obvious dedication<br \/>\nof LGLC&#8217;s donors to protecting the<br \/>\nlake,&#8221; said Brown. &#8220;So many people have<br \/>\ngenerously supported LGLC, in the form<br \/>\nof providing the extra bit needed to move<br \/>\nspecific land protection projects forward as<br \/>\nwell as the annual support that allows LGLC<br \/>\nto fulfill its mission.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;But what has really impressed me is<br \/>\ntheir collective connection to the lake. I<br \/>\nfind these close ties to the lake and the<br \/>\ncommunity to be such an important part of<br \/>\nour work, and I really look forward to visiting<br \/>\nwith donors and hearing their stories about time spent on and around Lake George. I also<br \/>\nlook forward to hearing their ideas for how<br \/>\nwe can continue to build on what they and<br \/>\nLGLC have already accomplished.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Brown said he is not a stranger to the Lake<br \/>\nGeorge region. Having grown up in rural<br \/>\nnorthwestern New Jersey, he frequently<br \/>\nvisited the Adirondacks as a kid, and later<br \/>\nwould often stop to admire the lake on his<br \/>\nway to his wife&#8217;s family farm in Addison,<br \/>\nVermont.<\/p>\n<p>Gatherings will be scheduled over the<br \/>\nnext few months for the public to meet<br \/>\nBrown.
