In the basement<br \/>\nsits an antique voting machine with Nelson<br \/>\nRockefeller as a ballot option.<\/p>\n<p>Cappabianca is no stranger to the field of<br \/>\ncycle repair, but he had a broader vision for<br \/>\nhis own establishment.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ve worked in ski and bike shops my<br \/>\nentire life. The repair shop component of<br \/>\nThe Hub meets a practical sport need on<br \/>\nthis high-traffic cycling route, but I wanted<br \/>\nsomething that would also involve food,<br \/>\ndrinks and people connecting. We have live<br \/>\nmusic, we have an art show coming up, we<br \/>\nhave a great place here&#8211;a place where<br \/>\npeople stop in and stay awhile,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>The bike shop specializes in the repair<br \/>\nand maintenance of bicycle and things with<br \/>\nbicycle components, and garnered recent<br \/>\nrecognition by becoming the official bike<br \/>\nshop for the June 27-28 HITS North Country<br \/>\nTriathlon in Hague. The Hub will receive<br \/>\nbikes via shipment or personal drop-off for<br \/>\nassembly or race-day prep, as well as provide<br \/>\non-course assistance.<\/p>\n<p>Cappabianca employs two associates,<br \/>\nNoah Leggett and Cody Madigan.<br \/>\n&#8220;Believe it or not, we all do everything:<br \/>\nwrench on bikes, make food, and pour<br \/>\ndrinks,&#8221; he said. &#8220;The joke is: If we have blue<br \/>\ngloves on, we&#8217;re in the bike shop. If we have<br \/>\nclear gloves on, we&#8217;re in the kitchen. If we<br \/>\ndon&#8217;t have gloves on, we&#8217;re behind the bar.<br \/>\nIf you see us in the kitchen with blue gloves<br \/>\non, run away.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Hub has a full kitchen serving<br \/>\ncaf\u00c3\u00a9-style food such as paninis, breakfast<br \/>\nsandwiches and personal pizzas. It features<br \/>\na hand-made wooden bar with bike chains<br \/>\ninlayed in the shape of the region&#8217;s local<br \/>\nlakes. There are many local beers on tap, as<br \/>\nwell as bottled local wine.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are committed to serving only local<br \/>\nbeers and wines, buying from vendors within<br \/>\na 50-mile radius of the area,&#8221; Cappabianca<br \/>\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>He cites the atmosphere as a driving force<br \/>\nin the establishment&#8217;s success.<br \/>\n&#8220;Our purpose here is to promote cycling<br \/>\nas an activity and the way people interact in<br \/>\na great atmosphere&#8211;not necessarily push<br \/>\na particular sales product. As our sales increase,<br \/>\nit&#8217;s because we&#8217;ve done a great job,<br \/>\nnot because we&#8217;ve pushed any particular<br \/>\nhard good,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>The facility offers a private room for<br \/>\nlarger groups.
