Nol\u00c3\u00a9t’s Gateway Internet Caf\u00c3\u00a9 is an internet
\ncaf\u00c3\u00a9 with full-service coffee shop, copy
\nand printing service, located in the heart of
\ndowntown Corinth.<\/p>\n

It was started by Dee Nol\u00c3\u00a9t, a Corinth resident.
\nShe is the sole proprietor and had the
\nvision for the establishment for a long time.<\/p>\n

“Many years ago, I traveled for work and I
\nsaw an internet caf\u00c3\u00a9 in Maine. It looked more
\nlike a library, and back then it was just dialup
\n[internet service], but they had coffee
\nand, oddly, a liquor bar. Years later, I saw one
\nin Lake Placid. This one also had books, but
\nno coffee or bar. It was beautiful. I thought it
\nwould be the neatest thing to open.”<\/p>\n

Her vision revolved around the rentable
\ninternet portion of the business, for visitors
\nneeding or wanting computer and online
\nresources while vacationing away from home.<\/p>\n

Nol\u00c3\u00a9t’s Gateway has free WiFi for mobile
\ndevices. It features coffee-shop style chairs
\nand tables, outdoor seating and individual
\ncomputer stations for rent. Printing services
\nare available.<\/p>\n

The coffee bar has coffee from Adirondack
\nLakes Co. out of Saranac Lake and pastries
\nfrom Pearl’s Pastries in Greenfield Center. It
\ncan be rented for meetings and events. Boxed
\nlunches are available for scheduled meetings.<\/p>\n

“I have always wanted to open an internet
\ncaf\u00c3\u00a9. ‘Coffee shop’ wasn’t really in my mind,
\nbut when you put the word ‘caf\u00c3\u00a9’ in your business
\nname and throughout your advertising, it
\nimplies coffee, so that part grew naturally into
\nthe business plan.”<\/p>\n

The interior of Nol\u00c3\u00a9t’s Gateway is rustic in the classic Adirondack theme that lends itself
\nwell to the business’ name. Natural wood is the
\npredominant floor and wall covering. Large
\nstripped and polished trees serve as support
\nbeams.<\/p>\n

“I want people to be able to come in and
\nrelax, even when we’re busy. We have an
\natmosphere of being peaceful, not rowdy,”
\nNol\u00c3\u00a9t said.<\/p>\n

In the past, Nol\u00c3\u00a9t owned a full-service computer
\nservice company, and had a television
\nshow on TV 8 called “Tech Net.”
\nShe began the process of property acquisition
\nand dealing with business logistics in
\nFebruary.<\/p>\n

“Last October I sat across the street at Soul
\nSister’s Bistro & Bakery, having lunch with
\nsome friends. I pointed at the building and
\nI said, ‘You see that place right over there?
\nThat’s gonna be mine one day.’ They just
\nstarted laughing. This was before I had started
\nanything with the business. Now they say to
\nme, ‘How did you make that happen so fast?’ I
\ntell them that this place is what’s always been
\nin my mind.”<\/p>\n

“This place has everything you need to stay
\nconnected. It has all the IT options that you
\nwould have in a business or home office, with
\nthe fringe benefits of a coffee shop,” Nol\u00c3\u00a9t
\nsaid. “We’re in a great location right in front of
\neveryone, but still calm and peaceful inside.”<\/p>\n

Nol\u00c3\u00a9t’s Gateway is located at 126 Maple St.
\nin Corinth, with off-street parking available.
\nHours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7
\np.m.; Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sundays
\n10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The website is www.noletsgateway.com<\/p>\n
