The Argyle office of Glens Falls National
\nBank and Trust Co. raised funds and awareness
\nfor the Argyle Free Library during its Community
\nAppreciation Day in April.<\/p>\n
The Argyle librarian read stories to local
\nkindergarteners during the event and provided
\ninformation about the library’s history and how
\nto become a member. In addition, a basket
\nraffle and other donations generated $255 for
\nthe nonprofit.<\/p>\n
Also, the South Glens Falls office raised over
\n$1,100 for the Moreau Community Center Back-
\nPack Program during a Community Appreciation
\nDay on May 1.
\nVarious fundraisers, including basket raffles
\nwith items donated by local businesses, generated
\n$1,137 for the BackPack Program, which
\nhelps alleviate hunger by providing food for
\nchildren to take home on the weekends. In addition,
\nnonperishable food was collected during
\nthe event for the Community Center’s pantry.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Fort Edward and downtown
\nGlens Falls offices raised over $1,000 and
\nawareness for local nonprofits during their
\nCommunity Appreciation Days on April 23 and
\n24, respectively.<\/p>\n
The bank’s main office in downtown Glens
\nFalls hosted a cookout, bake sale and raffle,
\nwhich generated a total of $840 for Relay for Life
\nand the Glens Falls Salvation Army. At the Fort
\nEdward office, a bake sale, art raffle and basket
\nraffle generated $200 for the Washington County
\nCommunity Action Angels.<\/p>\n
