Don’t be fooled by the name, Tami-Jo’s Grocery
\nand Deli is much more than a quick place to stop
\nfor a few things one might need.<\/p>\n

The full-service deli, catering service, grocery
\nstore at 36 Feeder Dam Road in South Glens Falls,
\nalso has lottery, beverages, subs made to order, and
\nmore. Tami-Jo Blondo said opening the business
\nwas something that she hadn’t planned until a
\nseries of unfortunate events led her to what is
\nnow a fulfilling business venture.<\/p>\n

Blondo said she was laid-off from a position in
\nOctober of 2013 and was feeling lost, frustrated
\nand down on her luck. She said she came to point
\nwhere she decided to make a change, a change
\nthat started with the vacant neighborhood store
\nshe drove by everyday.
\n“I said to my husband, it’s time to pick myself
\nup and dust myself off,” said Blondo.
\nBlondo said the condition of the building was
\npoor and many parts of it had been neglected and
\ndamaged. She said it took a leap of faith and a lot
\nof hard work to bring it back to life.
\n“We had to work to gain people’s trust, let them
\nknow we were invested into making this a place
\nthey would want to stop and see,” said Blondo.<\/p>\n

Business has been gaining momentum according
\nto Blondo. She said they began catering in
\nMarch and have received many calls for graduation
\nparties, funerals, and office parties.
\nThey cater all parties and affairs from 10 to
\n250 people and have a wide assortment of fresh
\ndeli sandwiches, meat platters, fruit platters and
\ndessert trays. Blondo works alongside two full-time
\nand one part-time employees.<\/p>\n

The deli offers a selection of fresh baked turkey,
\nroast beef and ham each day. Its homemade
\nspecialty sandwiches are available for carry-out
\nor eat-in. People can also have dinner made that
\nthey can carry out.<\/p>\n

Customers can look for the rusty pickup parked
\nout front and walls lined with Tami-Jo’s Grocery &
\nDeli’s own Adirondack and South Glens Falls nick
\nnacks that give this tiny rustic eatery its charm.<\/p>\n

The store is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Breakfast
\nis served until every day until 11 a.m. The phone
