The FUND for Lake George has released a
\nnew short film, “Lake George: A Living Legacy.”
\nThrough narration and captivating footage,
\nthe tribute presents both the promise and peril
\nnow facing Lake George, officials for the FUND
\nsaid.<\/p>\n
The film was produced by Visual Planet LLC, a
\nmulti-media communications firm in Albany, and
\nis available to view on The FUND’s home page:

“Lake George: A Living Legacy” features
\nthe three chief concerns that pose a gathering
\nthreat to Lake health– invasive species, rising
\nsalt levels, and declining water quality and clarity–
\nthat, unless halted, will trigger dramatic
\ndeclines, FUND officials said.
\nThese threats were revealed in the “State
\nof the Lake Report: 30 Years of Water Quality
\nMonitoring on Lake George,” published by The
\nFUND and RPI.<\/p>\n
In direct response, The FUND for Lake George
\nlaunched its Legacy Strategy to head off threats
\nand achieve sustained protection of Lake George
\nthrough unprecedented partnerships, program
\ninnovations, and targeted investments.<\/p>\n
“The film is meant to inform and inspire
\nthe shared resolve and concerted action now
\nrequired to safeguard Lake George and ensure
\nwe can leave a living legacy of which we can all
\nbe proud,” said FUND Executive Director Eric
\nSiy. “From the aquatic invasive species prevention
\nprogram–the first of its kind east of the
\nMississippi–to the world-class science of the
\nJefferson Project, we are leading by example on
\nhow to protect a seriously threatened natural
\nasset for future generations.”<\/p>\n
In addition to release on The FUND’s website,
\nscreenings of the film will take place at select
\nevents throughout the summer. This includes
\nThe FUND’s annual meeting at the Sagamore
\nResort on Saturday, Aug. 15.

The FUND for Lake George is a privately
\nfunded nonprofit organization dedicated to the
\nprotection of Lake George. Formed in 1980, it
\napplies a science-based approach to protection
\nfocused on Lake George water quality and the
