WAIT<br \/>\nHouse was established in 1998 and has provided<br \/>\nmore than 18,000 bed nights to more than 1,000<br \/>\nhomeless youths since its establishment. It offers<br \/>\na variety of educational and skill-building<br \/>\nprograms with the goal of helping homeless<br \/>\nteens continue their education, find jobs and get<br \/>\ninto safe permanent living situations.<\/p>\n<p>WAIT House extends its services into family<br \/>\nlife as well, assisting families who are at risk of<br \/>\nbecoming homeless struggling to maintain a<br \/>\nstable family environment, and seeking to attain<br \/>\nsafe, permanent housing.<br \/>\nThe Code Blue Shelter, located at the Salvation<br \/>\nArmy in Saratoga Springs, provides safe,<br \/>\nwarm emergency housing for the homeless when<br \/>\nthe temperatures dip below 20 degrees or 12<br \/>\ninches of snow falls. A grant of $5,020 will assist<br \/>\nwith the purchase of 20 sleeping cots, lockable<br \/>\nstorage bins, a boot fund and other expenses.<\/p>\n<p>The Foundation gave $2,500 to improved access<br \/>\nfor disabled visitors at the Historical Society<br \/>\nof Moreau and South Glens Falls at 46 Saratoga<br \/>\nAve., South Glens Falls.<\/p>\n<p>A grant of $1,535 was awarded to the Steps<br \/>\nfor Stroke program to underwrite the cost of developing<br \/>\ninformational folders for patients and<br \/>\ncaregivers.
