TD Bank is closing its downtown Glens Falls
\nbranch office, but officials said the company will
\nkeep a presence downtown by keeping its drive-thru
\nbanking on Maple Street open.<\/p>\n
A TD Bank spokesperson said the at 237 Glen
\nSt. office staff will go to with TD’s Queensbury
\noffice at 54 Quaker Road.<\/p>\n
The remote drive-thru in Glens Falls will
\ncontinue to be a convenience for customers. The
\nbank will work with customers, where necessary,
\nfor a smooth transition. The Queensbury office
\nis only two miles away from the Glens Falls
\nbuilding.<\/p>\n
Transaction volume numbers and customer
\nuse of the office were factors in the decision to
\nclose the office. A closing date is not yet determined.
\nThe building was a First National Bank of
\nGlens Falls office years ago, one of two in downtown
\nGlens Falls. First National changed its
\nname to Evergreen Bank. In 1999 it was sold to
\na company that is now part of TD Bank.<\/p>\n
The spokesperson said the bank is assessing
\noptions for the Glen Street building.<\/p>\n
