Thanksgiving weekend proved to be a positive \nglimpse of what the future may hold for \nthe new Squires Caf\u00e9 in South Glens Falls.<\/p>\n
The cafe, located at 71 Saratoga Ave., was \nthe previous home of Maude’s Caf\u00e9. Now \nunder the management and ownership of \nJen Pereau and her fianc\u00e9 Mike Squires, the \nrestaurant is bringing new life to the location \nand is getting raves reviews on their \nFacebook page.<\/p>\n
Pereau said they strived to make the cafe \na family friendly atmosphere where people \ncan get home cooked classics, with some new \ntwists. She said Squires has worked in the \nindustry for years, with a lifelong dream of \nbeing his own boss.<\/p>\n
“Mike has been a chef for over 25 years and \nhas always wanted to own his own restaurant. \nWe seized the opportunity to open our place \nwhere an existing restaurant had closed a few \nmonths earlier. We’ve changed the decor and \nmenu,” said Pereau. \nThe family style restaurant serves breakfast \nand lunch seven days a week with dinners \nThursday through Saturday nights. As of right \nnow, they employ seven people. Peareau said \nthey already have customer favorites.<\/p>\n
“Most popular dishes include homemade \ncorned beef hash and our speciality four egg \nomelettes for breakfast, burgers and wraps \nfor lunch and our prime rib dinner special. \nOur customers love our warm friendly atmosphere, \nfast service and great food,” said \nPereau.<\/p>\n
She said the ultimate vision for Squires \nand Peareau is provide a place for people to \nget a comfortable meal that almost feels like \nhome but still has the luxuries of eating out.<\/p>\n
“Our goal is to provide a place where great \nfood and friend meet. We’ve already made a \nlot of new friends and couldn’t be more excited \nabout our location and the community \nsupport. Our portions sizes are very large so \nwe expect no one to walk away hungry,” said \nPereau.<\/p>\n
