The Lake Theatre <\/b>will celebrate its 2016 season with its first-ever FUNdraiser on Friday, May 20 from 6-9 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Resort in Lake George, the theatre’s summer home.<\/p>\n
The event will be a casual, with hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, auctions, games, prizes and live entertainment, organizers said.<\/p>\n
The entertainment will feature a performance of “Spontaeous Broadway” by the Mop And Bucket Improv Troupe.<\/p>\n

The Washington County Fair Inc.<\/b> has five $500 scholarships available for local students for the 2016-17 school year.<\/p>\n
Eligible applicants are those students who have been, or are currently, active in the fair and who will be students at an accredited institution of higher learning during the 2016-17 term.<\/p>\n
The scholarship program was established as an extension of the educational purpose of the Washington County Fair. The scholarship funds are issued directly to the recipient.<\/p>\n

Pediatric Dentistry of Glens Falls<\/b> announced today that it will formally change its name to Pediatric Dental Group of New York. The name change is effective immediately.<\/p>\n
The new name comes as the practice begins to expand its focus to serving patients throughout the Capital Region with the arrival of a new office on Albany Shaker Road in Colonie, which is expected to open in September, officials said. Pediatric Dental Group of New York will also maintain its Glens Falls office at 88 Broad St.<\/p>\n

Three Lake George High School students who competed at the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)<\/b> state leadership conference in April in Rochester qualified to represent New York State at the FBLA National Conference in Atlanta from June 28 to July 3 and nine students were state finalists finishing in the top eight.<\/p>\n
A total of 14 students from Lake George High School participated in the event that drew more than 670 students from 58 schools.<\/p>\n
The students’ results in their respective events were: Cole Varney and Mattie Williams, first place, Introduction to Business Presentation (national qualifiers); Lynnaya Preuss, fourth place, Public Speaking I (national qualifier); Jude Armstrong, fifth place, Job Interview; Anthony Gambino, state finalist (top 8), Client Service; Jessica Huber and Annie Williams, fifth place, Business Plan; Samantha Jeckel, state finalist (top 8), Social Media Campaign.<\/p>\n
Madison LaFond, fifth place, Public Speaking II; Madison MacDermid and Autumn Shaughnessy, state finalist (top 8), Public Service Announcement’; Ashley Staunches, fifth place, Community Service Project; and Mattie Williams and Lynnaya Preuss, eighth place, Chapter of the Year.<\/p>\n
In addition to competing, students attended various business leadership workshops, observed the state officer campaigning process, participated in the voting process of the campaign, and attended social activities including two themed dances.<\/p>\n
