Queen of Harts Pizza is a new pizzeria at 17 704 Upper Glen St. in Queensbury.<\/p>\n

The owners, Julie Hart Young and Jedidiah Murphy, have both worked in the restaurant business most of their lives. Julie’s family tree–the Hart family– had already established roots in this area for many years in the pizza business.<\/p>\n

“After many years of working with family and with each other we decided it was time to branch out,” Young said. “We thought this area was in need of a non-chain, pan-style pizza shop that delivers and offers slices as well.”<\/p>\n

Inside the shop, there is seating for approximately 20 people, free Wifi, outlets to charge phones and, Young added, “some good tunes.”
\n“The restaurant has a more modern feel then any pizza shop in the area,” Young said. “We went with more of an industrial look. Jedidiah made all the tables and benches with ease, due to his family history in furniture making. Our floor is a pattern we saw done on a wall in Bryant Park this winter during the Holiday Shops in the Park. We were unsure how it would look on a floor, but went with it anyway and it looks awesome.”<\/p>\n

Despite the restaurant name, the options are not limited to just pizza.<\/p>\n

“We have clubs, melts, wings, salads and appetizers,” said Young. “Our ‘O’s Ace,’ which is a sweet and sticky sauce, is very popular for the wings. We also have deep-fried pretzels with a beer cheese sauce that are amazing. The queen club, which has spinach, cucumbers, turkey, bacon, cheese and a cranberry mayo, is our best selling club and delicious to boot. We also offer a homemade cheesecake that differs in flavors weekly and other desserts.”<\/p>\n

There are sandwiches, french fries, salads and chicken wings.<\/p>\n

They also have some gluten-free options: a gluten-free pizza and gluten-free bread for any club sandwich. Currently, they don’t offer catering, but they are hopeful to include it in the near future.<\/p>\n

The pizza also has a “take and bake” option, where the pizza is assembled, but not cooked. Instead, customers take it home to bake at their leisure.<\/p>\n

“Friends of ours had mentioned that while they were in Maine they saw this done and it seemed to be a hit,” Young said. “We did some research and found a chain in the south called Papa Murphy’s that only did take and bake. The chain is a huge hit … So we thought we would take a chance and see if it would be successful. And it is.”<\/p>\n
