Adirondack Thunder<\/a>, the ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Calgary Flames. The installation of the video displays will begin after the Thunder’s season opener on Oct. 22 and will be scheduled around their games, and other events including the Adirondack Stampede Rodeo and the New York High School State Volleyball Tournament, center officials said.<\/p>\nThe upgrade is slated to be completed by Nov. 22 in time for the home game versus Florida.<\/p>\n
“We are thrilled to partner with Panasonic to bring our guests the latest in video technology to the Glens Falls region,” said Jeff Mead, Glens Falls Civic Center general manager. “This project, a part of the $2 million incentive grant from New York state, in collaboration with the City of Glens Falls and EDC Warren County, allows us to bring the most advanced immersive technologies to the sports and entertainment fan that demands this in their entertainment experience.”<\/p>\n
This year marks the Adirondack Thunder’s second year of league play. Once the displays are installed, the team will be the first in the ECHL to have 5mm pixel pitch video displays on home ice.
\nThe center-hung display is suspended by a JR Clancy-installed hoist and is comprised of four primary LED video displays, four corner LED video displays and one lower ring LED video display.<\/p>\n
The Zamboni Red Line Tunnel and the six seating bowl entrance displays are 5mm pixel pitch. The digital displays deliver high resolution, crispness and clarity to enhance the fans viewing experience.<\/p>\n
“We’re thankful and grateful for the generosity of New York state and appreciate the leadership shown by the Adirondack Civic Center Coalition in the awarding of the grant that facilitated this new, state of the art Panasonic video and ribbon videoboard system in our building,” Adirondack Thunder President Brian Petrovek said. “The videoboard is a huge addition to the many new improvements to the Thunder fan experience for our upcoming season made by Civic Center management and we’re excited about this substantial upgrade to arena technology and the impact it will have on our fans.”<\/p>\n
