Several local businesses have put their support behind Gift Back, an alternative gift fair entering its third year in Glens Falls.<\/p>\n
Gift Back will be held at Mean Max Brew Works, 193 Glen St., on Friday, Dec. 2, from 5-9 p.m., and on Dec. 3, from 3-9 p.m. The first night coincides with the Downtown Glens Falls Collaborative’s Hometown Holidays event.<\/p>\n
Gift Back invites shoppers to purchase a holiday gift for their loved ones, friends or business associates from up to 11 local participating nonprofit groups. Representatives from each nonprofit will be there to explain its mission and how a Gift Back gift can help the organization achieve its goals.<\/p>\n
When shoppers select an alternative gift, they receive a gift card with an insert describing the gift purchased. Gift options include providing food for a family, supporting the arts, encouraging teen participation in the community, sponsoring children’s mentoring programs or helping a family with an ill child.
\nAll gifts are tax deductible and shoppers will receive acknowledgements from the nonprofits they choose.<\/p>\n
Shoppers unable to attend Gift Back at Mean Max’s can purchase gifts on line throughout December at www.glensfallsgiftback.org.<\/p>\n
Nonprofits participating in Gift Back 2016 include: Amanda’s House, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Southern Adirondacks, Glens Falls Medical Mission, Greater Glens Falls Senior Citizens Center, Amorak Youth, Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Council (LARAC), Family Services of Glens Falls, Warren-Washington Country Care Center, Hudson River Music Hall and Phoenix Rising Project Hudson Falls, Inc.<\/p>\n
