Lake George Olive Oil is scheduled to open
\na second location in Glens Falls at the end of
\nOctober. The company was founded in Lake
\nGeorge, and their Canada Street location there
\nstill remains open.<\/p>\n

The new location, at 179 Glen St., will help the
\nbusiness to better accommodate their customers
\nwho live in the area, the ownership said.
\n“About 60 percent of our customers come
\nfrom the Glens Falls area,” said Carmella
\nMastrantoni, owner of the company along with
\nhusband, Robert.<\/p>\n

“We have a lot of customers from the Glens
\nFalls area, especially nurses who work at the
\nhospital,” she said. “We thought it would be great
\nif we could open a second location.”
\nAnother reason the Mastrantonis were
\ninterested in setting up a second location
\nwas the fact that Lake George is a seasonal
\ncommunity. Lake George Olive Oil is one of the
\nfew businesses in the business section of the
\nvillage that stays open year round, seven days
\na week. A second location gives the company
\naccess to more business.<\/p>\n

The Glens Falls store will offer cooking classes,
\nwhere customers can come in and learn recipes
\nto showcase the brilliant flavors of their olive
\noils. The store will also feature gift baskets,
\nwedding favors, and more.<\/p>\n

Mastrantoni will be at the new location
\nevery day to assist customers and answer any
\nquestions.<\/p>\n

The olive oil that Lake George Olive Oil
\noffers is 100 percent pure and organic, said
\nMastrantoni. It is between six months and one
\nyear old, so it is fresh compared to many other
\nolive oils.<\/p>\n

The Mastrantonis said they source it from
\na supplier in California who is dedicated to
\nproviding only the purest olive oils.
\nShe said olive oil has health benefits which
\nmake it a great choice for adding to a diet. Olive
\noil has been linked to be beneficial to heart
\nhealth, diabetes, brain health and more.<\/p>\n

The Mastrantonis are regular users of olive oil,
\nsince they have been in the restaurant business
\nfor several years. One simple recipe Mastrantoni
\nsuggests is taking rice and drizzling it with their
\nTuscan herb olive oil and fresh parmesan cheese
\nfor an elegant yet simple side dish.<\/p>\n

Robert Mastrantoni opened Capri Pizza in
\nLake George in 1974. They have been operating
\nMezzaluna together since 2008.
\n“I’m looking forward to being part of the
\nGlens Falls community. It’s going to be a
\nwonderful experience for all of us. Everything
\nthat the community does is the direction that
\nwe want to go in,” said Mastrantoni.<\/p>\n

The location will be open from 11 a.m. to
\n7 p.m., Sunday through Saturday. For more
