Stored Technology Solutions Inc.
\n(StoredTech), a provider of IT managed
\nservices, has launched unlimited data backup
\nplans for business customers.<\/p>\n
Company officials said that instead of the
\nstandard way of charging backup services per
\ngigabyte of data, it now offers unlimited safe
\nand secure cloud backup to businesses for $99
\nper server, per month, or $49 per workstation
\nper month.<\/p>\n
The company said the departure from the
\nstandard pricing model is, in-part, a response
\nto “an unsettling trend that’s emerged whereby
\nprice-conscience businesses will often put
\nsome of their data at risk by being selective
\nabout which business data they backup” in
\nan attempt to save some cost.
\n“This leaves them less than 100 percent
\nprotected from data loss scenarios that could
\nput their entire business in jeopardy,” said a
\ncompany statement.<\/p>\n
“Businesses will often let this standard
\npricing model of per-gig affect what they
\nchoose to backup,” said StoredTech President
\nand CEO Mark Shaw. “This is particularly true
\nwith the SMB market where businesses need
\nto be more frugal. We want our customers to
\nbe able to backup all of their data in order
\nto provide their businesses with true disaster
\nrecovery and peace of mind.”<\/p>\n
According to Shaw, more than half of
\nSMBs surveyed admit to not performing daily
\nbackups.<\/p>\n

\nhundreds of dollars per month.<\/p>\n
