Lil Ciero’s Pizza recently reopened at a new
\nlocation in Fort Edward, after a 15-month hiatus.
\nThe pizzeria, formerly in Hudson Falls, is now
\nlocated at 368 Broadway.<\/p>\n

Lee Lunt said he took the time to reevaluate
\nwhat he wanted to do with his life, and took
\non various jobs including auto detailing and
\nnewspaper delivery before returning to the pizza
\nbusiness.
\n“I thought I wanted something different. I was
\nwrong,” said Lunt.
\nThe restaurant is larger than the former location
\nin Hudson Falls.<\/p>\n

Lunt runs the pizzeria with his wife, Trisha,
\ntheir daughter, and his brother-in-law. His wife
\nhelps run the stations and fills in as needed. He
\nrefers to her as the brains of the operation and
\nadmires her ability to multitask.
\n“I’m a one track mind, she has 15 things going
\non,” said Lunt.
\nSince opening in September, Lil Ciero’s has
\nhad a whirlwind business. The restaurant sold 141
\npizzas on the first night alone, the owner noted.
\n“We didn’t expect to get hit like we did the first
\ntwo weeks,” said Lunt. “It doesn’t feel like we’ve
\nbeen out of business at all.”<\/p>\n

The secret to his pizza, Lunt said, is the sauce.
\nBut it first happened by mistake, explained Lunt.
\nWhen Ciero’s originally opened eight years ago, they were sent the wrong pizza sauce. The sauce
\nturned out to be a hit with the customers, and
\nsoon Lunt was ordering it from his distributor.<\/p>\n

In addition to the sauce, Lunt has a lot of skills
\nand expertise when it comes to making pizzas. He
\nbegan making them more than 30 years ago at
\nSmitty’s, another Glens Falls pizzeria. He worked
\nhis way up from delivery driver, to manager, to
\nfinally owning his own restaurant. Lunt said pizza
\nis the craft he knows best.
\n“I wasn’t happy in my life without doing pizza,”
\nhe said.<\/p>\n

Being in the pizza business has helped Lunt
\nbuild strong relationships with people in the
\ncommunity. He worked as a delivery driver for 15
\nyears and knows almost every address in the area.
\nHe said he does not always know people by their
\nface, but can recognize them by their address.<\/p>\n

The new restaurant features a large air-conditioned
\ndining room. Upstairs is a large banquet
\nhall, which can seat up to 40 people. Lunt plans
\nto use the space for birthday parties and other
\nprivate events, once he gets it approved for use.<\/p>\n

He said he is grateful to friends and family for
\nhelping him get Lil Ciero’s open for business. One
\nfriend, Alex Labrum, worked 15-hour days helping
\nto get the restaurant ready.<\/p>\n

Lil Ciero’s is open Tuesday through Saturday,
\n11 a.m. to 9 p.m. For more information, call 747-
