\nPetrovek announced new home dates for
\nthe 2014-15 season to go along with the
\nOct. 11 home opener at the Glens Falls
\nCivic Center.<\/p>\n
“We’re excited to share seven new home
\ngame dates with our fans and provide two
\nnew ticketing options as we approach
\nopening night on Oct. 11,” Petrovek said.
\n“Our promotional sponsors are stepping up
\nin a big way to make the game experience
\nfor our fans better than ever and we thank
\nthem for their generosity.”<\/p>\n
Saturday, Nov. 1 will kick off the Flames’
\n“Movember” campaign, said team officials.
\nThe Movember Foundation is a global
\nmen’s health charity committed to changing
\nthe face of men’s health.
\nThe initiative is prevalent throughout
\nthe hockey community and many players
\nand staff members throughout the hockey
\nworld will grow mustaches for the month
\nof November in support of men’s health
\nissues.<\/p>\n
The Flames will partner with U.A. Local
\nUnion 773 for a Military Appreciation
\nNight and Salute to the Armed Forces on
\nSaturday, Nov. 22. The night will feature
\nspecial, military-themed game jerseys,
\nwhich will be auctioned off at the conclusion
\nof the evening, in addition to in game
\nevents to honor the Armed Services.<\/p>\n
The following weekend, Glens Falls
\nHospital will sponsor Youth Hockey Jersey
\nNight on Saturday, Nov. 29, where the first
\n1,000 fans under the age of 14 will receive
\nan Adirondack Flames youth jersey. The
\nFlames will also hold their inaugural
\n“Night of Champions” which honors local
\nyouth and high school teams that won fall
\nchampionships.<\/p>\n
The Flames will continue the Glens
\nFalls tradition of a New Year’s Eve game
\non Wednesday, Dec. 31. The evening will
\ninclude a special 5 p.m. puck drop as
\na start to New Years Eve festivities in
\nGlens Falls. The evening will be capped
\noff with an indoor fireworks display from
\nFireworks By Alonso at the conclusion of
\nthe hockey game.<\/p>\n
Officials said the Flames and Glens Falls
\nHospital will again partner to hold “Pink in
\nthe Rink” night on Saturday, Jan. 17, which
\nwill feature the second themed jersey of
\nthe season. The Glens Falls Civic Center
\nwill be decked out in pink as Glens Falls
\nHospital and the Flames join forces in the
\nbattle against breast cancer.<\/p>\n
Proceeds from the postgame jersey auction
\nwill benefit C.R. Wood Cancer Center
\nin Glens Falls.<\/p>\n
In conjunction with USA Hockey’s Hockey
\nWeekend Across America, the Flames
\nwill celebrate “Hockey Weekend Across
\nthe Adirondacks” on Saturday, Feb. 28.
\nThe Flames will honor the proud tradition
\nof hockey in Glens Falls, while welcoming
\nin the new age of the Adirondack
\nFlames. The weekend begins on Friday,
\nFeb. 27. People in the community will be
\nencouraged to wear a hockey jersey to
\nschool or work during the day.<\/p>\n
Saturday, in addition to the night game,
\nis “Try Hockey Day,” where Flames officials
\nencourage people to learn more
\nabout playing the game. The weekend-long
\nevent will include a celebration of Glens
\nFalls local hockey heroes. It will be run
\nin partnership with the Adirondack Youth
\nHockey Association.<\/p>\n
The eighth guaranteed date will be “Go
\nGreen” night on Saturday, March 14, which
\nwill combine the flair of St. Patrick’s Day
\nwith an environmentally conscious going
\ngreen initiative, officials said. Further
\nsponsorship and promotional information
\nwill be announced closer to the event.<\/p>\n
