Morgan Stanley announced today that Kathleen R. Grasmeder, a senior vice president, financial advisor and financial planning specialist in its Wealth Management office in Glens Falls, was named to the firm’s President’s Club, an elite group composed of the firm’s leading financial advisors.<\/p>\n

The appointment recognizes her consistent creativity and excellence in providing a wide range of investment products and wealth management services to her clients the company said.<\/p>\n

Grasmeder, who has been with Morgan Stanley Wealth Management and its predecessor firms since 1996, is a native of Newtown, Pa. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Drexel University and a master’s of business administration from the University of St. Thomas. She currently lives in Queensbury with her family.<\/p>\n

Seeley Office Systems announced that Megan Reising was named marketing director.<\/p>\n

She will be cooperating with the management team to lead new business and marketing strategies, and maintain current relationships with local clients.<\/p>\n

Reising brings a background in marketing and advertising, including pharmaceuticals, nonprofits and retail. She was previously employed at the Patient Experience Project and Franklin Community Center in Saratoga Springs.<\/p>\n

She received her B.A. in marketing at Bryant University in 2007.<\/p>\n

Jaeger and Flynn, an insurance broker, consulting, and administrative
\nservices firm, announced the addition Kathy LaFond of Queensbury to its
\nstaff.<\/p>\n

LaFond will join their group benefits team.<\/p>\n

LaFond
\ncomes to Jaeger and Flynn as a former client of nearly five years and
\nbrings 12 years of human resources, benefits, and HRIS systems
\nmanagement experience, most of it for employers such as the Shenendehowa
\nCentral School District, Wildwood Programs, and Glens Falls Hospital.<\/p>\n

Over
\nthe past six years, she has been an active member of the local SHRM
\nchapter, the Capital Region Human Resources Association. She earned her
\nB.S. degree in business from SUNY Empire State College a received a
\ncertificate in HR management from Duke University. LaFond has also been a
\nmember of the local SHRM chapter, the Capital Region Human Resources
\nAssociation for the past six years.<\/p>\n

Sandra L. LeBarron, director of environmental health and safety at Finch Paper, has been named a TAPPI Fellow for 2014.<\/p>\n

Fellow
\nis an honorary title bestowed upon a small percentage of TAPPI’s
\nmembership and given to individuals who have made extraordinary
\ntechnical or service contributions to the industry or the association.
\nTAPPI is an association for the worldwide pulp, paper, packaging, tissue
\nand converting industries.<\/p>\n

LeBarron joined Finch Paper in 2008
\nand directs and manages all aspects of the environmental compliance.
\nPreviously she was regional director, Region 6 for the state Department
\nof Environmental Conservation, where she worked for almost 15 years. She
\nalso worked for International Paper Co.<\/p>\n

She currently serves on
\nthe TAPPI board of directors, was a past president of the Empire State
\nChapter and serves on several local organizations including Daughters of
\nthe American Legion. She attended Russell Sage College and received a
\nbachelor of arts in chemistry.<\/p>\n

The Adirondack Branch
\nof the American Association of University Women announces the
\nrecipients of the 2014 Adirondack Branch Memorial Scholarships.<\/p>\n

A
\nscholarship of $1,000 each was awarded to Kat Fitzpatrick of Glens
\nFalls and Tracy Ennis of Greenwich on May 29, at the Adirondack Branch
\nAAUW dinner and awards banquet held at The Fort William Henry Hotel.<\/p>\n

Fitzpatrick
\nis a graduate student at Pine Manor College, where she is pursuing a
\nmaster of fine arts in creative writing with a teaching certificate.<\/p>\n

Ennis
\nis attending Springfield College, where she is seeking a doctorate in
\npsychology with concentration in mental health counseling.<\/p>\n

The
\nHyde museum announced that chief curator Erin B. Coe received an
\nhonorable mention award from the Association of Art Museum Curators
\n(AAMC) and its Awards for Excellence in the categories of museum
\ncatalogues, articles\/essays, and exhibitions at their annual conference.<\/p>\n

Coe
\nwas recognized for her 2013 exhibition catalogue, “Modern Nature:
\nGeorgia O’Keeffe and Lake George” by Coe, Gwendolyn Owens, and Bruce
\nRobertson in the category for museums with an operating budget of $4
\nmillion and under. The catalogue was published by The Hyde Collection
\nand Thames & Hudson.<\/p>\n

Awards were given to curators from
\naround the country working in a wide array of fields and mediums, from
\nAfrican and Asian art to nineteenth-century topics, Modern and
\nContemporary Art, and photography.<\/p>\n

Kimberly Gallo,
\nEsq., CFP, and assistant vice president and trust officer at the
\nAdirondack Trust Co. is authorized by the Certified Financial Planner
\nBoard of Standards to use the Certified Financial Planner and CFP
\ncertification marks in accordance with CFP board certification and
\nrenewal requirements.<\/p>\n

Gallo has worked at Adirondack Trust Co.
\nsince 2012 and is responsible for the administration of trust, estate
\nand investment management accounts.<\/p>\n

The CFP designation
\nidentifies those who have met the rigorous experience and ethical
\nrequirements of the CFP board, successfully completed financial planning
\ncoursework and have passed the CFP certification exam covering areas
\nsuch as the financial planning process, risk management, investments,
\ntax planning and management, retirement and employee benefits, and
\nestate planning. CFP professionals also agree to meet ongoing continuing
\neducation requirements and to uphold CFP board’s Code of Ethics and
\nProfessional Responsibility, Rules of Conduct and Financial Planning

Cailie A. Currin of Greenwich and Bernice Mennis of Fort Ann were appointed to the SUNY Adirondack Board of Trustees.<\/p>\n

Currin,
\na Washington County appointee, is president and principal owner of
\nCurrin Compliance Services, LLC\/Currin Law Office, LLC in Greenwich. She
\nearned a law degree from Albany Law School and a B.A. in economics from
\nSyracuse University.<\/p>\n

Currin is a member of the State Bar
\nAssociation; a member and past president of the New England Chapter of
\nthe Association of Insurance Compliance Professionals; a member of the
\nLife and Health Compliance Association, the Insurance Advertising
\nCompliance Association, and the National Association for Annuities.<\/p>\n

Her term runs through June 2019.<\/p>\n

Mennis
\nhas been an educator for more than 40 years and is professor emerita of
\nEnglish at Union Institute and University. She has taught at Marymount
\nManhattan College, Skidmore College, Vermont College, Norwich
\nUniversity, SUNY Adirondack, and the Great Meadow prison and the
\nWashington Correctional Facility in Comstock.<\/p>\n

She earned a B.A.
\nin English literature from Hunter College\/CUNY and an master’s in
\nEnglish literature from the University of Wisconsin.<\/p>\n

Mennis was appointed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo to fill the unexpired term of Paul Gruber. The term runs through June 2018.<\/p>\n

Two
\nemployees of Glens Falls Technology Center in Queensbury recently
\nreceived the company’s Charles Russell Bard Award, an honor recognizing
\noutstanding character, abilities, and achievements<\/p>\n

Pamela Welch, a quality Engineer II, and David Barcomb, planning and purchasing manager\/Lutonix, received the award.<\/p>\n

Welch
\nis a certified quality engineer of the American Society for Quality.
\nShe currently volunteers as the corresponding secretary of the Big Cross
\nElementary School PTA in Glens Falls. She also assists with annual
\nUnited Way campaigns, Salvation Army Holiday campaigns, has coached
\nyouth soccer, and volunteered at the Southern Adirondack Independent
\nLiving Center.<\/p>\n

Barcomb played a strong role in helping the
\ncompany divest its ectrophysiology business and implemented several
\nelements of the Supply Chain Transition Service Agreement between Bard
\nand Boston Scientific.<\/p>\n

He helps raise money for cystic
\nfibrosis-related causes, often traveling 50 miles to Albany for
\nfundraisers. He recently participated in the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
\n“Stair Climb” event.<\/p>\n

Glens Falls Hospital made three administrative appointments recently.<\/p>\n

Mark Holtz, MS, FACHE, was appointed senior vice president, operations\/chief operations officer.<\/p>\n

Dr. Robert “Bob” Pringle, FACS, was appointed chief medical officer.<\/p>\n

Mitchell (Mitch) J. Amado III is the new senior vice president and chief financial officer at Glens Falls Hospital.<\/p>\n

Holtz
\nbrings more than 30 years of senior health care executive experience to
\nhis new role. He graduated from the Lehman College of CUNY in the Bronx
\nwith his bachelor’s, and obtained a master’s degree in health care
\nsystems management from Iona College in New Rochelle.<\/p>\n

Dr. Pringle
\nstarted his career at Glens Falls Hospital as a general surgeon. He
\nlater became the vice president for medical affairs from 1999 to 2007,
\nand has also served as an occupational health physician. He also was a
\nmember of Adirondack Surgical Associates from 1991 to 1998.<\/p>\n

Pringle
\nreceived his bachelor’s degree from Penn State University and earned
\nhis doctor of medicine from Temple University. He completed his
\nresidency as chief resident and internship at Albany Medical Center
\nHospital.<\/p>\n

Amado has extensive experience in health care finance
\nin New York state, having begun his career in Blue Cross\/Blue Shield’s
\nAlbany office. He then became a general accountant and ultimately
\ncontroller at St. Luke’s Hospital in Newburgh, and later moved on to
\nbecome vice president of finance at Horton Medical Center in Middletown.<\/p>\n
