{"id":28621,"date":"2017-06-15T14:30:49","date_gmt":"2017-06-15T18:30:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.glensfalls.com\/glensfallsbusinessjournal\/?p=28621"},"modified":"2017-06-15T14:30:49","modified_gmt":"2017-06-15T18:30:49","slug":"organization-formed-help-upstate-ny-masonry-contractors-market-trade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.glensfalls.com\/glensfallsbusinessjournal\/2017\/06\/organization-formed-help-upstate-ny-masonry-contractors-market-trade\/","title":{"rendered":"Organization Formed To Help Upstate NY Masonry Contractors Market Their Trade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Masonry contractors in Upstate New York have formed a new organization to assist in marketing their trade. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Upstate Masonry Institute (UMI) is the contractors\u2019 new outreach division with the mission to advocate, educate and promote use of masonry in construction projects that span from the Capital Region to Syracuse in the west and up to the U.S-Canadian border.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Upstate Masonry Institute was designed and is dedicated to improve the overall utilization of masonry materials of all types in the Upstate New York area in commercial, industrial and institutional construction projects, officials for the new organization said. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cUMI is here to represent the masonry industry by educating the developers, owners, architects, engineers and contractors involved in the success of masonry construction applications, providing the knowledge and means of increasing efficiency and productivity in masonry, and advocating the increased use of brick, block and stone,\u201d the group said in a news release.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><!--more-->Upstate Masonry Institute\u2019s efforts will be focused on meeting and networking with all facets of the construction industry, creating seminars to educate construction peers and forming a local resource center to improve and encourage the overall utilization of masonry materials.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Upstate Masonry Institute\u2019s office is located at the Building Industry Center on Airline Drive in Albany.
