The owner of the popular Warrensburg Gulf Tire House and Gas Station will be overseeing construction\u00a0 <\/span>of a truck stop and gas station in the Queensbury area.<\/p>\n Appropriately named the Queensbury Truck Stop, owner Tabassum \u201cToby\u201d Sheikh said the full-service station will also offer Dunkin\u2019 Donuts, and a small restaurant service.<\/p>\n The location of the truck stop and gas station will be on the corner of Route 149 and Ridge Road.<\/p>\n Sheikh said the spot, which he previously operated, was a\u00a0 <\/span>Getty Gas Station that did well, receiving a lot of traffic. He made the decision to tear it down last fall in order to build the new 6,500-square-foot space.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are working on details now, but planning for a November opening,\u201d said Sheikh.<\/p>\n <\/span>The former station had its pumps and tanks removed last fall, and eight brand new pumps will soon be installed.<\/p>\n He said the new Sunoco gas station will be able to accommodate big trucks travelling through the North Country. The entire cost of the project right now is between $2 and $3 million.<\/p>\n The Warrensburg shop operates as an auto repair shop, gas station with gasoline, non-ethanol gas, on-road diesel, off-road diesel, clear kerosene, a propane refill station and tobacco shop.<\/p>\n The Queensbury store will really be geared as a place where people can stop, fill up their vehicles, get coffee and a meal, according to Sheikh.<\/p>\n \u201cThere will space for people to stop and park, including truckers who need adequate space, \u201csaid Sheikh.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" By Jennifer Farnsworth The owner of the popular Warrensburg Gulf Tire House and Gas Station will be overseeing construction\u00a0 of a truck stop and gas station in the Queensbury area.
